About Me...
I’m Cheyenne, the maker behind Special Effects Wood Art.
I create custom wood pieces built to last — functional, character-rich work rooted in the Western landscape. My craft is shaped by a life spent around horses, hard work, and an appreciation for materials that carry a history. There's something about reclaimed wood — the grain, the wear, the story baked into every board — that no factory-finished piece can replicate. That's what I work with, and that's what I build for.
Every piece I make starts with intention. I'm drawn to natural textures, bold design, and the kind of craftsmanship that doesn't ask for attention but earns it over time. I don't work from a catalog. Each piece is one of a kind, designed around the person it's going home with and the space it's meant to live in.
The horses that have always been part of my life show up in my work more than I can fully explain — in the patience it takes, the strength behind it, and the quiet satisfaction of doing something well.
If you're looking for something mass-produced, I'm probably not your maker. But if you want a piece built with care, made from real materials, and created to be yours alone — you're in the right place.
